Can thrush be painful to a baby?
Babies react differently to thrush. Some babies seem oblivious to the thrush. Other babies seem to have quite sore mouths and have difficulty with latching and sucking. Some babies seem to have itchy mouths. Their mothers notice them rubbing their tongues back and forth across the roof of their mouth. There can be very light cases involving mostly the tongue and very heavy cases where the mouth seems filled with big white globs. For breastfeeding couplets, thrush is treated in both the mother and the baby, even if one of them is not showing any symptoms.
