Stephanie's Diary Entries

Diary Navigation:

October 15, 2002

I have been thinking a great deal about the father-son relationship and how nursing affects it. I have heard some friends say that there is such a bond when daddy can feed the baby and I have been pondering this. Jeff gave Rhys a bottle last week because I had my night class and it was the first bottle he had ever given. They are very bonded though!

Jeff and Rhys have an incredible relationship. Jeff is very hands on and loves Rhys so much. Rhys and I have gone on a couple of trips without Jeff because I am more mobile due to not working right now (still on mat leave)...when we get home from our trips Jeff runs out of the house and grabs the baby first thing and Rhys gives him the biggest grin!

I tried to go to bed early last night but DH and Rhys have a routine where they snuggle together in the bed for an hour or so before I come to bed and nurse. DH told me to go watch CSI-Miami cause I was interrupting daddy-Rhysie time! We have been away from home for the weekend so they hadn't gotten their usual night time snuggles in for a couple of days and they needed to catch up!

We moved our bedroom around so that the co-sleeper is now against the wall and then against the bed. I think that will work better for now. He is nearly at the point where he will outgrow his co-sleeper but I cannot even imagine sending him to the other room to sleep! I may have to figure out a sidecar arrangement with his crib.

Rhys actually sleeps through the night pretty much. He goes to bed at 6:30pm and then I nurse him when I come to bed which is usually around 12-1. Then he nurses when DH's alarm clock wakes him up at 6:30am and sleeps till around 8ish. He probably could go to his own bed now but I don't think I am ready yet LOL.
