Sarah G's Diary Entries

Diary Navigation:

December 19, 2000

My boy is 23 months old, as of Wednesday. And next month he will be 2 years old. Unofficially, (haven't been to the pediatrician since he was 18 months old, due to go next month) he weighs 30 pounds and is 31 inches tall! And he wears a size eight and a half shoe. He is vastly muscular, and I can already tell that my biggest parenting challenge will be teaching him how to manage that strength. He can take the chairs from the dining table and put them in the kitchen so that he can get into things he's not supposed to. And he's fast about it! He can carry my almost 20 pound cat around, and shove my 60 pound dog out of his way. Zowee.

Pregnancy update: I've gained about 10 pounds, but I am far bigger than I was last time. My family jokes that I'm having twins. They think this is highly amusing, but it scares me. I can only imagine the exhaustion of cosleeping with a toddler and two newborns. And nursing three! Oy, oy, oy! I would hate to have to wean Jake under the threat of preterm labor, and if I did, I'm sure he would want to nurse again after I deliver, which I would encourage if I was at all able.

At any rate, I'll learn either way on Friday. I'll be having my level 2 ultrasound. :) If I have a daughter, I will name her Sophia Willow. And if I have another son, I will name him Logan Wolf. And if I have twins I hope to have one of each gender, because I have no other names I love as much!
