Sarah G's Diary Entries

Diary Navigation:

December 13, 2000

Hello everybody! I am a day short of 19 weeks pregnant, amd am feeling absolutely gigantic. The weather has turned miserable here in Texas, and I have very few warm clothes that I can still wear! It's very frustrating.

My next appointment is on the 22nd, the day after Yule, and I'll be having my level II ultrasound. We'll finally get to know whether I'm having a son or a daughter. Either way, I have names picked out, and alternates if the baby doesn't seem to fit the name. Stone and my mother will be coming, with Jake. Mom is just as excited as Stone is about seeing the baby. And we'll be recording the sonogram on a VHS tape.

Jacob is sleeping better. He doesn't get upset when I get up to pee in the middle of the night. Instead he rolls over and cuddles with my teddy bear. I think it's because the room is so cold and the bed is so warm! I think I've given up, happily, on the idea of getting Jacob to sleep in his own bed by the time this baby is born. I know that it would just turn into something more for him to be jealous about. I would much rather he decide the bed is too crowded and move out on his own. I want it to be his idea. Besides, right now, the house is far too cold for him to sleep by himself. He kicks off blankets in his sleep and gets chilly. I feel much better having him so close that I can keep him warm. Luckily winter is short here, and it'll warm up long before the baby is due.

Jacob still nurses once a night and several times a day. I'm glad. :)
