Sarah G's Diary Entries

Diary Navigation:

November 14, 2000

Hola everybody! Today is a good day. :) I'm not at all tired, and I am cleaning the entire house. It feels really good to be productive again.

Jake is in a good mood too, probably because his mommy isn't cranky for once. I am still having trouble getting him to take a nap at a decent time. He gets sleepy around one o'clock, and will lay down and play quietly for a bit, but will do anything to stay awake. So he stays awake until about 7 p.m. -- then naps! When he wakes from that evening nap, he's always in a bad mood, and wants to stay up late that night.

I've been having horrific allergies. I sneeze and cough, my nose runs, the whole shebang. I'm very allergic to mold, and with all the rain we've been having in Texas, the mold levels are sky-high. I hate taking antihistimines, but if I don't I can't function at all. I just take one, when the regular dose is two, and it's effective. I just can't wait for the weather to dry out and the mold levels to go back down.

Jake nurses so rarely now. Only before naps and bedtime. Or if he's hurt himself, and wants comfort. I had hoped that he would night-wean, and continue to nurse during the day, but I'll take what I've got and hope he doesn't wean himself completely.

I officially hate being pregnant in winter. And it's not even winter yet. I passionately hate being cold, and I long for summer. Yes, even Texas' scorching summers. I'm definitely a Texas girl. <grin> Everybody tells me I'm nuts, and that being pregnant in summer is the worst misery there is. I really think being too cold in winter is far worse. It makes my bones ache, my eyeballs dry out, and my energy plummet. Yuck. It makes me want to curl up under a pile of blankets and sleep until spring, like a bear. :) Winter makes me want to hibernate.

I am really looking forward to Thanksgiving, though. Nothing makes me happier than food. So I'll hibernate right after Thanksgiving dinner.
