This week has been exhausting, for the most part. Jacob has had problems going to sleep. He wants to watch movies instead. His naps are much later in the day, and his bedtime has gotten much later, too. If I turn out the light before he is completely asleep, he throws a tantrum, or breaks into huge heartbreaking sobs, until I turn the light back on again. Then he is immediately calm. <sigh> It never used to be this way. We could lay down, relax, and turn out the light and he'd go right to sleep.
I think it's because he might be getting his two year molars. But I don't want to medicate him unless I'm absolutely sure he's in pain. I really wish he could just tell me. Perhaps I need to put in a night-light somewhere in our room. Maybe he's just scared of the dark?
We are also nursing quite a bit less, and I don't even notice most of the time. Although sometimes it'll catch me by suprise, as in "Wow! He hasn't nursed all morning!"
On another note, I had a midwife appointment on Monday. I now weigh 115 pounds, and am still very healthy. The best news is we heard the heartbeat! I love that sound. :) Stone wasn't with me, unfortunately. He had classes to attend.
My next appointment is in five weeks, on November 22, the day before Thanksgiving. Stone will be coming to that one. That's the appointment they would do the triple screen test, and I have decided not to take it. I've thought a great deal about it, and made the decision best for me and my family. I will be having a level 2 ultrasound when I'm around 22 weeks, and hopefully that will detect any physical problems that need attention, such as spina bifida.
I'm starting to feel actually pregnant now. :) It was amazing to hear the baby's heartbeat. My next task will be to try to figure out why Jacob is having such problems sleeping, and where to take him trick-or-treating. <grin>
