Sarah G's Diary Entries

Diary Navigation:

October 11, 2000

This week has been uninteresting on the pregnancy front, except that I have had the worst allergies in my life -- and I can't take anything for them. I'm not supposed to take the things I normally would, but I've got a list of medications that are OK to take if I have to. The thing is they make me very sleepy, which is terrible to be with a very active toddler to chase all day! So those are out. <sigh> At least it's all for a good cause.

Jacob actually seems to be nursing less, on his own. I've always been a "don't offer -- don't refuse" kind of gal, and it really seems to be working for us. The few times I have offered, thinking he was cranky and needed to calm down, he's usually refused. And he's only nursing once in the night instead of three or four times. And the most exciting thing: he'll ask for a cup of something to drink instead of wanting to nurse first thing in the morning. This is so good because he's comforting himself, and I can get up to pee. :) Being pregnant has its drawbacks ...

Yesterday was Stone's 22nd birthday, and I baked a cake. His presents still hadn't arrived in the mail, but they should today. We'll just celebrate his birthday for two days!

My morning sickness has almost vanished. Every once in a while, I'll get a twinge of queasy, but it passes quickly. My next midwife appointment is the 16th, so the next entry will tell about that. Until then, I wish you all well.
