Sarah G's Diary Entries

Diary Navigation:

October 2, 2001

Logan is five months old today. Wow! Five whole months. I suppose he could start solids now, but I'm not interested in really trying. I do let him taste bits of things from my food every once in a while, but I know he's not ready to move onto solid-food meals quite yet.

Logan nurses a jillion times a day, and once or twice at night. He babbles and coos and blows raspberries. He can stand with support only for balance, and roll over in both directions. He can also grab the things he wants and bring whatever it is to his mouth, which makes drinking coffee or eating supper or reading a book very interesting. Logan thinks his big brother is hilarious, no matter what he does. (grin)

Speaking of Jake, he's still nursing too. He'll be three years old in January. He's given up naps for the most part, unfortunately, and has entered an anti-mommy phase. When we are alone, he's just as he's always been, but as soon as someone else visits, he prefers him or her strongly over me. If he asks, "What's that?" and I answer, he'll ignore me and keep asking until someone else answers. If he calls for help, and I go to help him, he will shout no at me and call for help from someone else. I'm baffled, but not hurt. He is just fine with me when there isn't another adult around. Go figure.

I don't have 'official' stats, because we won't have a well-baby check until the first week of November, but I'd be willing to bet Logan weighs 20 pounds or more. Definitely time to start looking for a new carseat. I can't tell if Jake is any taller or not, but he seems lankier.

I've been given the ownership of a large breastfeeding list at yahoogroups.com. It's really cool, and an honor, and I'm very pleased. There are around 400 members. Man, I wish I got paid for that job. (grin)
