Today I went to the clinic to get birth control, and learned I'm pregnant.
Today has been incredible, mind blowing. I woke up this morning dreading the pelvic exam and intimate questions, and instead I learned I'm about 4 weeks pregnant and I'm now engaged to be married. Zowee.
Jacob was unimpressed by the whole thing, except he thought it was funny when his daddy told him that mommy has a baby in her belly. Stone is happy, but not at all surprised. He has believed I was pregnant for days. Go figure.
My next tasks are to find a midwife in this area, as I've moved away from my previous midwife, and to tell my folks. My family will be happy, but still I'm nervous.
Right now, all I can think is, "I'm pregnant." Over and over. Jacob hasn't yet had his nap and is rather upset, but he doesn't seem to want to nurse much. He'd rather eat Cheerios with his father. I had been a little sad about eventually weaning Jacob, because he seemed to be cutting back on breastmilk. But now I know I won't have to stop nursing for quite some time. I know Jacob will continue to nurse for quite some time more, and then there will be the new baby. It makes me feel very peaceful to imagine nursing both my children.
I hope I have a little girl, but I have recurring dreams of four sons. (Grin.) Either way will make me happy.
