Logan’s appointment yesterday went grandly. :) He not only regained his birth weight, but 5 ounces over! So he now weighs 8 pounds 8 ounces, in the 55th percentile. Dr. B says his color is perfect and he's perfectly healthy. No more jaundice!! She was very impressed with his color, actually, repeatedly commenting on it. Yay! Logan is so marvelously pink he makes me look yellow.
He slept the whole way there, I didn't get lost or in the wrong lanes, he slept the whole way back, and I stopped on the way for the Chicken McNuggets I’d been craving for days. :)
His next appointment is next week, Wednesday at 3:40. It'll be the first regular appointment. The one yesterday was special.
I’m breastfeeding on demand, and Logan’s nursing a great deal, more than he was in the hospital. I’m not feeding him any formula at all. He sleeps very well, and is generally very mellow. Jake at this age was much more effort. (grin) But that may be because I was a first-time mother then.
Speaking of Jake, he now sleeps on the mattress from the crib on the floor next to my bed. I had intended both of my boys to sleep with me, but after the first night, I realized my bed is just too small. It would work if Logan were older and bigger, actually. That way I wouldn’t have to be concerned that Jake was going to hurt Logan in his sleep. (Jake is a wiggly floppy sleeper.) As it is, I have to sleep between them, with a body pillow on the other side of Logan. My double bed is just too narrow. The transition to sleeping alone has been simpler than I thought it would be for Jake. He does wake up quite a few times a night in a momentary panic, but goes right back to sleep when he sees me. But he doesn’t argue with me about sleeping there. I think he was feeling a bit cramped in my bed too. What I think I’ll do is put the crib (the one he never slept in) back up, minus the moving side, and press it against the bed. Jake can sleep there, and it’ll get the mattress off the floor. It’ll also give him easier access to me. He still likes to nurse in the middle of the night, and since I don’t at all mind (after all, I’m awake several times with Logan anyway) I’d rather make it easier on me. :)
