I'm NOT in preterm labor whatsoever. I have some sort of stupid rebound bacterial infection from the antibiotics I was taking. Sheesh. And I almost weaned my son for a bacteria. I feel silly with relief. And my faith in my body has been as restored as it could be; it wasn't my fault, it was the antibiotics. (grin)
On the way home (btw, Jake was a doll at the midwives') Jake and I stopped at IHOP (International House of Pancakes, are they all over the place) and had lunch. Then I brought the plentiful leftovers to my mom at work, coerced (grin) her into watching Jake while I went to HEB to pick up my prescription ((sigh) yet another one) and some misc. groceries.
My update: I weigh 144 pounds (65.32 kg), blood pressure is low, the baby's heartbeat is 156. Midwife Nancy did a cervical exam and pronounced me long and shut, and took samples for chlamydia and gonorrhea tests just to be on the safe side.
And I did the glucose tolerance test. The funny part was that I was supposed to drink it half an hour before my appointment, and my drive to the office is longer than 30 minutes. :) And I don't own a watch. So what I did (oh, btw, my car clock is waaaaaay off and I haven't figured out the difference yet or how to fix it) was leave at exactly 10 am, and set my kitchen timer for 30 minutes. (grin) I thought I was pretty clever, if I do say so myself.
Another groovy thing: I presented my birth plan for the first time today, and it met with approval. She only pointed out a few things that delighted me: All rooms are private; Seton hospital doesn't give pacifiers to breastfed babies; and c-sections get an automatic second opinion because the midwifes don't do them (Duh! I dunno what I was thinking). I'm feeling much better about the whole thing.
And she was so confident in me not having preterm labor that my next appointment has been moved from next week to 3 weeks from now.
(happy, happy, joy, joy)
