Sore Breasts, Potty Training, and Group B Strep

Hey, everyone! I don't have time for a really long entry today, but I wanted to get something in, so I don't miss a week.

Things are good here. I'm continuing to feel much better, although I'm still getting headaches from time to time. My breasts are also starting to get a little bit sore. It's strange that it's happening now, at 15 weeks pregnant. When I was expecting Kara, sore breasts were one of my first pregnancy symptoms, but this time they've felt fine up until now. Fortunately, nursing only hurts right when Kara latches on, almost like when we first started breastfeeding! I'm hoping this is as sore as they are going to get.

Kara is continuing to grow and thrive. She definitely challenges me at times, but overall is a really easy-going little girl. She is now almost potty trained and only wears a diaper at night. We have accidents here and there, but for the most part she is doing a great job of keeping her "big-girl underpants" clean and dry. I'm really proud of her.

The pregnancy is progressing just fine. I go to my next midwife appointment tomorrow. It should be just a routine appointment, although I want to talk to her about Group B Strep. I tested positive for it, and she wants to put me on antibiotics as soon as I go into labor. Of course I want to do whatever is necessary to keep the baby healthy, but I also don't want to spend lots of time in the hospital. I had 3 days of early labor with Kara, and this time I want to spend as much of the early labor as possible at home. I've been told that it's okay to delay the antibiotics until my water breaks. That sounds fine to me, and hopefully the midwife will agree.

Well, this wasn't the most exciting journal entry, but at least it's something! Hope you all have a great week.
