We’re having a good week this week! Kara is just so cute! (Okay, maybe I’m a little biased!) She’s speaking in short sentences now, and I love hearing what she has to say. It’s funny to hear things that I say parroted back to me, too. I had no idea that I say “Let’s see.” so much, but since Kara has started saying that, I keep catching myself saying it too. Some of her other cute phrases are “Whoa!” and “No way!” She’s also started calling Scott “Honey Daddy” and me “Honey Mommy!” I think it’s from hearing Scott and I call each other “honey” all the time. Anyway, it’s just too cute! I love this age!
Nursing is going fine too. I thought Kara might be getting closer to weaning the other day since she only nursed twice—once in the morning, and once right before bed. However, today she was back to normal and nursed her usual four times. I do think we are gradually weaning, but it’s really slow going. I don’t mind, though, and still want to let Kara set the pace.
On the trying to conceive front, Scott and I are “going for it” this week! I’m not taking temperatures, so I won’t know exactly when I’ll ovulate, but I think we’ve covered it. After this week, we’ll be in the waiting phase. So far I’m feeling much more relaxed about trying to get pregnant than I was when we were trying for Kara. I know a lot of people feel that the whole pregnancy experience with the second isn’t as special with the first since you are so preoccupied with your first child you don’t have as much time to think about the pregnancy. I think in my case though, it will be better. I really dwelled on my pregnancy with Kara, and while I was excited, I was also scared and nervous since I didn’t know what to expect. Also, all the discomforts of pregnancy really took me by surprise. This time I’ll know what to expect and I think the fact that I’ll be busy with Kara will keep me from obsessing about all the details. I hope so, because I really want to thoroughly enjoy the experience this time.
This weekend I’m having a little reunion with almost all of my bridesmaids! I’m really looking forward to it. We have decided to try to get together every Superbowl Sunday weekend. Since we don’t really have any more weddings to go to, or other big events that give us an excuse to get together, we’ve decided to create our own. It should be a lot of fun!
Have a great week, everyone!
