Ah ... tandem nursing can be wonderful. That is if the older child is not hitting the baby in the face or poking his finger in the baby's fontanel! I have been continuing to nurse both children at the same time and it seems to be helping a lot. Sebby is not as jealous and has not had any really bad tantrums in a few days. There are still times where he wants to nurse alone, but most of the time he does not mind if Bart is sharing the "Moo Moo."
I can say now, too, that I feel much closer to both of them. Not that I didn't before, but the stress I was experiencing was really getting in the way of my emotions. I was getting really frustrated with Sebby and I think my fear of him feeling left out was interfering with my feelings towards Bart.
Although my friends think I am totally nuts (first of all because of nursing while pregnant ... then because of my decision to tandem nurse ... and now because I am nursing them at the same time!!!), nursing them at the same time has really bonded all three of us in a beautiful and special way. Sebby still needs his "Mommy time" but I think he feels more secure now (I hope) and knows that my time with Bart does not interfere with my time with him.
We are off bed shopping ... we still have not decided exactly how we are going to handle the sleeping situation. I have to look around first to get some ideas.
Until next week,
Ketherine
