Ketherine's Diary Entries

Diary Navigation:

April 20, 2000

DS and I have suffered with a terrible flu this week. He had a fever of 104 for four days and I have also had a fever of about 102. I have been so dizzy and weak that I have hardly been able to get out of bed. I suppose that it is good that we were sick at the same time. Otherwise he would want me to play with him like usual and I am in no shape to do that.

I thought that he had either chicken pox, scarlet fever or roseola because his playmate was exposed to all three. Thanks goodness, though, that it was none of these. However, his playmate does have the same flu and they have both been so sick that they could not play together this week. Poor DS! He was asking me "Aba sick?" (Adam sick?) all week and telling me he wanted to go to "Aba house!."

I am now 27 weeks pregnant. All is going well except for the fact that I am measuring 31 centimeters!! The guideline for fundal height is one centimeter per week so this baby is obviously big. DS was the same and that was due to gestational diabetes. I think this may be the case this time. That would be kind of ironic considering I still have morning sickness and am throwing up my food half the time! I will keep you all updated. I had my first glucose tolerance test this week so I should know if I have GD soon.

As for my BF, I was suppose to attend my first LLL meeting today but I was way too sick to go. I was really looking forward to it. I would not want to expose the other babies to whatever DS and I have. I will have to go next month, I guess. DS has been telling me lately that "BooBoos sick!" and has not been nursing as much. I am not sure if this is because he is sick, because I am sick or because my milk tastes different. I suppose it could be any of the three.

Well, DS has just come to help me "type" this so I will sign off for now.

Happy Easter!
