I would first like to clear up the fact that yes, we do have a family bed for anyone who was wondering. I am really happy that we have made this decision. It is sometimes hard, especially with me being pregnant. But it is well worth it. We all definitely get much more sleep this way and I get to spend more time with DS.
I am 21 weeks pregnant right now and am starting to get a lot of back pain. It is really unbearable. I did not have this with DS and it is very difficult for me to functions sometimes. On a brighter note, I did not have any morning sickness this week and have been eating up a storm. I still have not gained much weight (about 12 pounds) which seems to be good compared to my lasted pregnancy where I gained a total of 40 pounds.
We are thinking about buying a minivan soon because with two kids and one large dog, our Hyundai Accent is just not going to be enough. The gas prices are so high here that I don't even want to guess how much it will be to fill up a minivan size tank! Hopefully, though, if I stay home permanently after the baby is born we will be able to manage with just one vehicle. I would really like to continue to have two, but I just don't think we will be able to afford it.
DS went through a scary throwing up spell two nights ago where he could not keep anything (even fluids) down. He was even vomiting after I nursed him -- I have never seen this before. Breast milk is not supposed to cause vomiting, but I suppose if he had stomach flu than that might have been the cause. I had to give him some children's Gravol, which made him extremely drowsy. I really did not want to give it to him but he could not relax enough to fall asleep due to the severe vomiting. Thankfully this only lasted one night and he was perfectly fine the next morning.
I am happy to report that DS is very happy in his new daycare environment. He attends a licensed private home daycare and is with a temporary provider while ours is on maternity leave (so many babies being born this year!). He seems to have adjusted really well and has actually been very excited to got there in the morning. DH drops him off and he tells me that as soon as they get in the door DS says, "Hi lady! OK, Bye Daddy!" and pushes DH towards the door. It puts my mind so much at ease to know he is happy. I'll be glad, though, when I can stay home with him myself!
Until next week,
Ketherine
