Ketherine's Diary Entries

Diary Navigation:

February 23, 2000

I am so excited this week! After 8 months of working straight nights (11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.) I am finally on the day shift (8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.). I was so ecstatic on Sunday night that I could hardly sleep. But moving to days has been hard, though. My body is still used to being awake at night so I am very tired during the day. Being pregnant doesn't help either. I thought that moving to days would help alleviate my nausea and increase my appetite, but no change yet. I still have very bad morning sickness and I am very concerned that the baby is not getting enough nutrition. Everyone tells me not to worry, but I can't help it!

I am now 19 weeks pregnant. The baby has started to move more frequently which really relieves my worries about the well being of the baby. I worried a lot when I was pregnant with DS too. It is hard for me not to as I know a lot of people who have had miscarriages and stillbirths. I suppose the amount of healthy babies born to my friends outweighs these tragedies, but I still have that seed of worry in my mind.

DS is basically falling asleep on his own now after a short nursing session. This is good for me, as I have been very tired. He is waking up more, though, during the night to nurse. I am so deep into my sleep that I barely notice he is nursing. My breasts do not seem to be as sore now. Perhaps during the first trimester I noticed the pain more? Or perhaps my body has gotten used to all the hormones surging through my veins? Whatever it is, my breasts definitely feel much better. The only problem now is that I am spilling over the top of my bra! Time to go shopping!

Lots of love,

Ketherine
