Ketherine's Diary Entries

Diary Navigation:

February 9, 2000

Hello all!

It's been a pretty boring week. I am now 18 weeks pregnant and my morning sickness had come back with a vengeance! I have also been so tired that I have not been able to do much. Every pregnancy book I have read says that you get more energy in the second trimester. I think they need to add a disclaimer saying, "Not applicable to those with toddlers!"

I have gotten some good advice about epidurals and I am seriously considering it. The only thing that I am really concerned about now is the fact you need to have a catheter and an IV. I am a bit confused though. With a walking epidural do you need a catheter? I have never had a catheter and frankly I am concerned about how it would feel. I really do think I need pain relief and I am NEVER going with Nubain again. So, other than an epidural, I am not sure if anything else would be effective enough for me.

DS is doing fine. He is really trying hard to speak in sentences now. Sometimes he just babbles on in his own language and expects me to understand. At night sometimes he will try to say every word he knows to get my attention. When he first started doing this, every time he would say "Eat!" or "Juice!" I would rush downstairs to get him what he wanted. I now know that this is just his way of trying to delay bedtime so I just ignore him. Eventually he will settle down and go to sleep.

I hope my entry for next week will be a bit more exciting!
