Ketherine's Diary Entries

Diary Navigation:

February 2, 2000

DH and I have decided to go into business with a friend and I have been extremely busy all week trying to organize myself. We are in the process of trying to obtain a contract with a major client so I have spent all my extra time working on the proposal. Considering the fact that I have never really been interested in business, I think I did a really good job.

DS has finally gotten over his ear infection. The doctor had to switch his antibiotics because the first one did not work. This is the second time that has happened. I find this really scary and I am extremely concerned for his health. I am looking into some herbal remedies to prevent or cure ear infections. A friend of mine who is an herbal consultant suggested Lobelia Extract. I am going to try this and see if it helps in the future. A friend of mine (the same one we are going into business with) has a son whose eardrum was permanently damaged due to a severe ear infection and he now has to wear a hearing aid. I am scared that something like that could happen to DS. Hopefully the Lobelia Extract will work.

I can really feel my baby starting to move now. It is really exciting! I noticed that the baby moves a lot when I am nursing. Perhaps it's from the stimulation of my breasts. DS does not want to nurse as much now. He will start nursing and then suddenly stop. I think that my milk is starting to taste different. I know that he wants to nurse, but he can tell that something is different. He has also started to become really interested in babies. He carries a baby doll around at home sometimes and will hand it to me and say, "Boo boo!" or "Nurse!" So I then pretend to nurse the doll and he gets this really big smile on his face. I hope he acts like that when the baby is born. He also has started to use the baby doll to tell me how he is feeling. When he had the ear infection, he kept telling me, "Baby crying" and he sometimes also says, "Baby happy." I am really proud of him because these are the first real sentences he has used! (He is 20 months old now.)

Best regards,
Ketherine
