Chanda's Diary Entries

Diary Navigation:

December 31, 2001

Well, this is my last entry for the year 2001. Where in the world has time gone??? And just s few days ago, we celebrated Jake's 1st b-day. It's crazy to think he's 1 already, but I guess I better get over it quick, before he turns 2!!!
Well, we did have a pretty good Christmas. I won't go into details about Christmas Eve though, it wasn't good, I'll leave it at that! The kids and I did head over to my MIL's for xmas eve, that part was actually pretty nice. We haven't seen her since last xmas!! So it was the first time she's met Jake. We opened presents, then headed home. Both kids were pooped, went straight to bed. I forgot to set cookies out for Santa, darn it, maybe next year!! But then the next morning my family came over, we did more presents,(you should see all the toys!!!!) had a honey baked ham, then spent the evening trying to figure out how to put everything together!! Then last Friday Jake turned 1, so after work we took him to Dairy Queen for his first sundae! He ate a bit of it, then daddy finished the rest. He didn't wake up at all crying that night...which I was surprised, I was starting to think he was lactose intolerant like Sidney was. He always gets tummy aches after he eats cheese. Hmmmmm??? But anyways, the official party is next Sunday, on Sidney's birthday. We're having a shared party at Chuck E. Cheese. I ordered their cakes yesterday, Sidney gets Cinderella and Jake gets Monsters Inc. Should be cute. We've invited about 6 other kids and about 25 adults. Should be a zoo!!
The kids will also get their well-baby check ups this week. Curious to see how big Jake is. He just seems like such a little guy. He looks way to small to be walking. His appitite isn't as good as it used to be either. He's still nursing though, I guess that's good for him. He's been sleeping through the night mostly, I usually nurse him about 5am, then he'll sleep in a bit(til 8 the last few days!!). But he doesn't seem to like milk at all, which is frustrating. I even bought a next step formula, to see if he'd drink that, forget it! I'd like to just nurse him at nap and bedtime, then have him drink milk the rest of the time, but I guess he's got other plans. I'll see what the doctor can suggest.
I think Brett is starting over at the used car lot today, I hope. He was offered a job over there about 3 weeks ago. He'd be making about 3x more money then selling new cars, and boy could we use that right now! Things have seemed to spiral downward the last month, and his new job would really help get out of debt. I'm crossing all my fingers and toes!!!!
Well, I think that's about it for last week. Friday Aunt Sue is flying in for the weekend. That will be nice, haven't seen her since last year. I'm sure Jake will love her. Alright, HUGS to you all and happy nursing!!! Chanda :)
