Chanda's Diary Entries

August 21, 2000

I'm going to try and get this out -- Sidney is watching yet another Elmo video, I think she'd do that all day if I didn't ration them!! My little guy inside is really flipping and flopping, keeps kicking me in the cervix I think, ouch!! I'm in week 22 finally.

I don't think I've gotten any bigger now for a few weeks. I'm one of those moms that wants people to know she's pregnant, but people still can't tell. I've noticed I've taken to the pregnant waddle, I think it's more to make me feel prego, I don't know??!!

I registered at Babies 'R' Us this weekend. I don't think anyone is throwing me a shower or anything, but I just needed to do it. It felt good to look around at all the baby stuff. I was kind of bummed though, they have all this new cool stuff that I want. I don't need any of it, I have the swing, high chair, bassinet/play-pen, stroller, car seat ... but they've made all that stuff neater, with cool gadgets. All my stuff isn't even two years old, and it's in great condition, so I had to just admire all the new stuff. Maybe if I win lotto I could go buy the cool stuff?

Well, my day care just took a flop today. I thought I was going to be starting the brother/sister this week, but it looks like their mom isn't getting trained on her new job until October 4. I'll have to call her back and tell her that's just too long to wait without getting paid. Shoot, now I have to start all over with advertising, interviewing UGH!!!!!!!

The 9-week-old is still very crabby too. I think I've done about all I can to make him happy, but he is just so darn fussy. I keep trying to remember if Sidney was that fussy. I don't think she was and she had colic!

Oh, we took Sidney out for ice cream the other night (she's lactose intolerant ... so this was a big deal!!!). But I gave her 1/2 a Lactaid tablet (I used to take those myself) and then she ate some of my cone and hubby's cone. That night she did pretty well, too, she may have woken up once and I gave her some Mylicon, but that was it, she did great, I thought!!! I hope she outgrows this, I just couldn't imagine keeping ice cream away from a child ... especially when I love it so much myself!

OK, I better run, I'm pretty pooped tonight! Hugs to all and happy nursing :)
