Chanda's Diary Entries

Diary Navigation:

May 2, 2000

Hello again, I feel like I just sent an entry, time must be flying by or something. I am now 6.3 weeks along and actually starting to feel pretty yucky now. I don't miss this feeling for anything. I did go buy some sea bands today though, and they seem to be helping. I've been feeling pretty yucky just about all day, but then at night, I get these awful tummy aches. It just tosses and turns and twists, hurts enough to keep me awake. Maybe I'll sleep with these things on and see if it helps with that pain too.

I contacted a gal from LLLI and asked her a few things that I should/shouldn't be doing while nursing and pregnant. She offered me a few books, so I need to run and find them. And really I have to wait and see what my body and Sidney decide to do over the next few months. Sidney could actually start to dislike the taste of my milk (I guess it changes) or I could dry up, but I'll just go with the flow and see how far we can get with this.

Sidney is doing well, still nursing well. I think she has a definite attachment to my boobs. If I'd let her (and I feel bad for restricting it sometimes) she really would nurse every two hours if she could. She has her hands down my shirt every time we're in contact, squeezing my nipples, which is really starting to bother me (too sensitive sometimes!!!). So I'm just trying to take it day by day at this point.

I still don't have any day care kids. Which I kind of like because I've been going to bed around 8 p.m. every night. And if I have evening/night care, that's really going to interfere with that!!! I also had a couple that used to live across the street stop by and talk to me about care for their 19-month-old boy, Cameron. Bad thing about that, it would start at 6:30 a.m.!!!! Oh my!!!! If I do get him, I'm really going to have to be choosy about the kids in the evenings.

Sidney has an appt with a gastroenterologist tomorrow for her tummy aches and loose stools. Her PCP has always blamed her diarrhea and loose stools on breastfeeding, but I disagree with him. Maybe when they are newborns it keeps them from getting constipated, but this is ridiculous if you ask me. I can also discuss the lactose intolerance.

Okay, I better run. Many HUGS and happy nursing!!
