I'm going to try and limit Sidney to three nursing sessions a day. I didn't
really want to do that to her, but I think the frequent breastfeeding is
causing my body not to ovulate, just like it caused my period didn't to
return for so long. I did this back in January to try and get AF back and
it worked, finally got it in February, so now I'll try it again and see if
I can conceive. I let her nurse at nap-time, then again at bedtime and then
once during the night. She would nurse about every two hours still if I let
her. I do feel bad for limiting her, but if I can conceive this month, then
I'll let Sidney control her nursing schedule again.
In the meantime, we socked up n her lactose-free milk. That stuff sure is
expensive, about $3.5 for a 1/2 gallon! Oh well, if it keeps Sidney from
screaming in tummy pain in the middle of the night, it's worth it.
I did see that gastroenterologist last Friday. He gave me a prescription
for the pain I've been having. He said to take it 1-2 times a day, but I'm
only going to take it if the pain gets bad enough. I finally got my copy of
Medications and Mother's Milk in the mail. It's a great book to have if you
ever need a reference before taking any medications. It gives you the AAP
American Academy of Pediatrics) approval and info as well as how much, if
any, is transferred to through the breastmilk. Also the pregnancy risk
category, adult concerns and pediatric concerns. It's been very helpful to
me with all my migraines and colon problems and medications.
I'm probably going to continue pumping and dumping with the new medication
I got for my tummy pain though. The book said a good amount transfers to
baby, which probably wouldn't be good, unless she's having the same pain
too ... maybe I'll ask her doctor if maybe it would help her pain in the
middle of the night. I'm still trying to get Sidney into a
gastroenterologist for her tummy pains.
Last week was a bad one, for about 4 nights. Poor dear would wake
screaming. The Mylicon just doesn't help for more then about 30 minutes. So
we'll see what we can find. I'm actually on my way out the door to go get
my loan for my daycare. I got my last class completed, the CPR/first aid. I
am going to recommend that class for any parent, I learned some life saving
information and techniques and it was only $35, well worth saving my or any
child's life. I'm going to send hubby and my mother to the next class. But
then this weekend we'll be picking up the last of the equipment I'll be
needing (like the outside sandbox, jungle gym...) then I'll be set, just
waiting for the county to do a walk-through inspection. I'm getting very
excited, I wish it wouldn't take so long, though, but I'm trying to be
patient, using this extra time to get some things done around the house
before I'm too busy to do anything!! Well, I better get going, HUGS and
happy nursing :)
I'm sitting here watching a Baby Story on TLC, that show still makes me
cry! I watch it everyday, just like I did when I was pregnant. I guess I
should mention, I got AF Saturday night, so we're not pregnant this month,
I guess we'll try for a December baby then!!
