Chanda's Diary Entries

Diary Navigation:

March 6, 2000

Hi all! It sure has been a busy week around here. Sidney is taking a late nap, so I thought I better get my entry done before I miss the deadline! I just nursed her to sleep, so I probably have about an hour to get this done!!

Sidney's cough finally cleared up, but was replaced by horrible diarrhea -- yuck! She gets diarrhea kind of often, so we just deal with it the best we can. We even had a few bare-butt accidents this week. I hate cleaning that up, double-yuck!!

I did take her to see her new Ped on Thursday. I just wanted him to check her out, she still wasn't eating, then the diarrhea and a horrible case of diaper rash was going on. He said she looked fine, she only weighed 19.0 so she dropped a few more ounces. But he thinks it's just a viral infection and will pass soon. I'm keeping my fingers crossed he's right. We'll be seeing him again in about 4 weeks for her 15 month well baby appointment, so we'll check her weight again then.

I think if the diarrhea continues I'm going to take her to a pediatric gastroenterologist. I just don't see how infant diarrhea is normal, and it isn't caused by breastfeeding like they keep trying to tell me. I've been able to get her to eat cereal in the morning but that's about it for the day. She's still nursing, thank goodness. If she ever stopped that, then I really would worry! My nipples are getting sore again though, ouch! She's also sleeping great, which is wonderful, right between hubby and I. We even slept in until 9:30 today, that was nice. I don't know what I'd do if I ever had to set my alarm, ohhh!

I'm going ahead and applying to get a license to become a child care provider, so I can stay home with Sidney. I have a child care class this weekend, so Sidney will have to stay at my moms during the day. Then I get my fingerprints done and the CPR class next weekend and wait to hear back from the county. I hope I can get licensed -- that would be fun! I want to watch one infant and one toddler. That will be enough I think. I'm trying to get my house ready now. They do an inspection of everything, but I have a list of what they look for, so hopefully everything will be OK. I'm keeping my fingers crossed on this one.

Hubby is doing good selling cars. He was there all day today, so he must be busy. I do miss having him home for lunch and dinner. When he worked at the bank he had the same schedule, now it's an early or late shift, I never really know.

Well, my migraines haven't been to bad...since I quit my job. Hmmmm??? Coincidence?? My tummy is still bothering me though, I've been trying all day to get an appointment with a gastroenterologist, but I have to wait for them to call me back tomorrow. Since my colonoscopy was normal, they'll have to try and find out what else can be going on. All I know is that it hurts and I look 4 months prego from all the bloating/gas all the time. Well see if I can get in this week, I hope so.

Hubby and I have been TTC this month. Since I finally got my first AF a few weeks ago, I'm hoping it happens. I'm ovulating right now, so I guess we just need to wait 2 more weeks and see if AF returns, I'll let you know first thing if we are (keep your fingers crossed for me!!!) We did the due date calendar from Babies Today, and it said I would probably conceive on March 5th and then be due November 26th. I hope so, that would be wonderful!!

OK, I think that's all my excitement this week. Hope everyone is doing great, happy nursing. :)
