Celena's Diary Entries

February 16, 2000

A lot has happened this past week and a half...

Ayden started crawling last Monday (2/7) and is just taking off! He is now getting into everything and crawls everywhere. Has also learned how to pull himself up onto things which is really leaving me unsettled inside. Just the thought of him falling... can't tell you what it does to me. I am always keeping a watchful eye on my little babe boy.

Also, we settled on a place to live finally... (we were moving to Arkansas to be near my mom and dad, but decided to stay in Virginia). The stress and anxiety were really beginning to get the best of the both of DH and I. Not to mention the subtle effects on my milk supply.

Ayden's appetite has slowed down too. This also has effected my supply... Which prompted my decision in cutting back a little on the solid foods. This way he will get his main nutrition from my milk. He was just nursing like crazy for a couple weeks and now you can count the times on both hands. This does happen when solids are introduced and I understand that. Just wasn't ready for it. He has always been an excellent nurser, right from birth. He latched on perfect the first time and from there on out we've never had a problem with that. Although we have had problems with supply and demand... he will go through these spurts where he is SO hungry and my milk just cannot keep up with him. Of course the next day I have more than enough, but by evening he has emptied me dry once again.

I love our bond through nursing. The way Ayden will just look up at me, smiling with my teat still half in his mouth. Makes me melt! Just not ready for the day he starts to reject nursing, but the day will come and it will be dealt with then. Although it has already slowly begun to happen with the introduction of solids. He still nurses about every 2-3 hours and sometime longer stretches.

It's time for me to go and start the day... hope everyone has an excellent week!

Love and Hugs to ALL :o)
