Hello all!
Well we survived our first time traveling with Adrianna. I must say she did very well. She nursed, slept and played through most of the airplane ride with just a little fussiness.
We arrived in Orange County California on Thursday October 24th in the late evening.
We stayed 2 short blocks from the Anaheim Angels (World Series Champions) stadium. It sure was an interesting time. We stayed at the Hilton Suites so we had a mixture of business clients and die hard Angel fans.
I must say after the Angels won the 7th game it sounded like nothing I had heard before. The partying went on for hours.
It was really awesome how the fans rallied around their team.
Adrianna and I had a truly awesome bonding trip. Rob worked quite a bit (the whole point of the trip.) We shopped, went swimming (indoor pool of course) and took lots of walks down N. State College Street in Orange California. We also spent time playing in the room, watching cartoons and working on her crawling. The time we spent together made me realize working 20 hours a week I do miss out on more than I thought.
Nursing on this vacation was sometimes impossible. Adrianna did not want to nurse if we were out and about. She absolutely refuses to nurses when there is any kind of outside noise. We ended up nursing quit a bit in the back seat of our rental car.
Adrianna met her Grandpa Burghardt for the first time. We spent two days with Rob's father. It was really tough because he lives 1 1/2 hours from where we were staying in Orange County. I hate to complain but here I go. I could not believe his Dad did not come to see us after we had came so far. Hey we flew 5 1/2 hours, the least he could do is drive 1 1/2 hours. Anyway the visits were short but at least we can say we brought his granddaughter to visit him.
I found my "dream town!" Rob and I decided we just had to take Adrianna to the beach. We just pulled the map out and drove to the closest town, Newport Beach. All I can say is awesome town. I am sure the cost of living is sky high but we both loved it.
We took some good beach pictures!
Well enough about our trip!
Adrianna is still not sleeping well. While in California she slept in a king size bed with Rob and I. She slept all night long but last night at home she did horribly in her crib. Our bed is not big enough for her. So I am reading a sleep book called The No Cry Sleep Solution. I think it is the same book Jennifer B. from Babies Diary is reading for Sam. I will start my sleep journals once I finish reading the book.
On a downer side of things Rob and I recieved some bad news our first night home from our trip. Rob was in a fender bender in February 2001 where he rear ended a lady on the interstate. There was no damage to our little Honda Civic and only a scratch to her rear bumper from our license plate frame but she is now suing us for bodily damage and everything else those ambulance chasing lawyers advertise on TV. Sorry if there are any lawyers reading this but the practice representing her is slim. The money she is trying to get is absurd.
Our insurance company is assigning the case a lawyer and wants a civil trial. The worry wart that I am can only think of the worst. I guess in this day and age suing is the way to make some big bucks. It is funny because she is also suing her commerical (work) insurance because they will not settle with her also. Any advice out there?
Well the boss (Adrianna) is on my lap getting antsy so I better go.
Happy Fall to everyone!
CJ
