Me, Me, Me....about our little Adrianna!
Adrianna turned 7 months old yesterday. My how the time flies by. She is learning something new each day. Her most recent accomplishment is sitting unassisted for a long period of time. We really have to watch her though because on Friday she was showing off to Grandma bobbing back and forth and rammed her head into a toy in front of her. It was quit traumatizing for Adrianna and Mommy. She is not crawling yet but that is not keeping her down so to speak. She will be quietly playing on her back one minute then on her tummy clear on the other side of the blanket the next. She is starting to pull her knees up underneath her while on her belly so crawling is only a matter of time.
She is "babbling" non-stop now. It is so funny to listen to the sounds that she makes. I have caught quite a few "dadada" episodes but nothing remotely close to "mamama."
Teeth
No pearly whites yet! I swear I saw a little white bud on the bottom front this aternoon but when I went to show Daddy it had disappeared. She is chewing everything in sight with a constant flow of saliva covering her face and hands.
My first shoes!
I know all the books say there is no need for shoes until walking time but I could not resist a pair of Osh Kosh canvas and leather oxford tennis shoes. She is only in a size 2 but they make her feet look big. She looks like such a "big" girl.
Diaper size!
My growing little princess is moving up to size 4 Pampers already! I am hoping to use the rest of my 3's before moving on but I can definitely tell it is time. My nephew, Ethan is 2 years old and only wears size 5.
He is just recently moved out of size 4.
Geesh...she will be catching up to him soon!
**Upcoming vacation**
Rob hates that I am calling it vacation because it is really a business trip for him with the family tagging along. His company is being really super about us going along. His plane tickets were purchased on Friday and he immediately called the airline and requested our seats with his seating. We ended up buying a infant seat for Adrianna just in case she will sleep in her car seat. She sure does a great job of falling asleep while in the car so we are keeping our fingers crossed and flying during the evening hoping this will help. 18 days until we leave!
Watch out Anaheim California two cool chicks (Adrianna & Mommy) will be hitting the malls while Daddy is working.
"Hurry up new cousin!" says Adrianna
My sister is still pregnant! Her due date is the 11th but she has strict instructions to go directly to the hospital with the first contraction to have her labor induced.
She is extremely uncomfortable but made it through the weekend so she could attend her 10th high school reunion. The baby has been breech on several occasions so we are hoping and praying he or she will stay head down now. I cannot wait to meet this child and most of all find out if Adrianna will have a girl cousin to grow up with.
Late bloomer
Well after 7 months of breastfeeding my right breast has decided to starting producing milk on a more regular basis.
It was so weird! I woke up during the night over the weekend with my right side engorged out of the blue! Adrianna has not been nursing more than usual on that side. It is almost like the flood gate has been released. Weird huh?
Shaken Baby Syndrome
Well I have been in total shock after reading what pregnancy diary writer Jenny has went through with her daughter Reilly.
After reading about her ordeal it just once more confirms I will NEVER leave Adrianna with anyone but family. My SIL babysits her now and if for some reason she should quit babysitting I will quit working. I totally agree there is nothing wrong with a Working Mother (heck I work part time.) I just have this fear of my daughter not being taken care of after my SIL and her family had a bad babysitting episode. I cannot believe someone would shake a child.
I sure hope justice is served soon!
Well I better close up this entry!
Hugs,
Carmajo & Adrianna 03/05/02
