Adrianna had another ear infection! 3rd in 4 months! I am beginning to think that they are allergy induced. On Sept. 6th I had her at the doctors for her 6 month well check and both ears were clear. Over that weekend Rob and I took her to a Octoberfest Festival which caused a runny nose and watering eyes. She was back at the doctor on Tuesday for what I thought was a cold.
Her left ear was fire engine red. I felt like such a bad mother! I know there is nothing I can do about it except I am going to watch from now on to see if everytime something bothers her allergy wise if it causes another infection.
She is so LOVING baby food! Since I am working part time I started out with jar baby food. I am going to work on making my own with sweet potato, carrots, squash, and green beans. My MIL gave me a great idea.
I am going to cook the veggies then freeze small servings in a ice cube tray then package in small freezer bags. I read on Jennifer B's baby diary that one sweet potato makes 20 servings...WOW! Not only is it cheaper but way more healthier!
We have not tried fruit yet! I am going to hold off as long as I can!
I had to take Adrianna in today for an eye exam. She has what we thought was a lazy eye but it's not. She has a large nose bridge which causes an optical illusion that the eyes are crossed. She does use her right eye more but we are working on training the left eye to respond fast when she uses it.
This weekend I am leaving Adrianna for a day trip with Rob to an amusement park.
Rob works for GE and they have rented out the entire park for employees only. This will be the first time I have left her with my MIL and the longest I have left her other than work. I am really nervous about it! I think I offended my MIL asking if she was sure she could handle Adrianna. I tend to forget she raised four children. I know she will be fine and we SO much need this alone time. I am hoping this will make it easier for me to leave her with grandparents.
Adrianna will be having a new cousin in the next few weeks! My sister is due October 8th with her third child. They did not find out the sex of the baby so I am really anxious! She already has two boys so I know she has her fingers crossed for a girl.
Cousin Baby Lais, if you can hear me Adrianna said to hurry up and arrive before we go on vacation.
We are possibly going to tag along with Rob on a business trip to Anaheim California in October. Adrianna will get to meet her Grandpa & Grandpa Burghardt for the first time if we go. Rob's father lives in Temecula so we hope to make this a family trip also. How is flying with a 7 month old? I have definitely decided she will not be a lap child. I don't think I could handle 6 hours of holding her in the cramped, hot quarters of an airplane. With my luck, I will buy a seat and will have to hold her the whole time!
Well the "boss" Adrianna is ready for a new activity now! Oh, I forgot the whole purpose of this diary breastfeeding! Oops!
Since starting solid food she is down to five nursings a day with one bottle while she is at the sitters. I can definitely tell which she prefers by her mood! Nursing is still by far her favorite in the evening!
Good luck to Jennifer on Baby Diary on her choice to give breastfeeding another try!
