Carmajo's Diary Entries

Diary Navigation:

August 23, 2002

Today marks two weeks since I returned to work part time. I cannot believe the difference in Adrianna..personality and breastfeeding. Anna (our nickname for her)
is with my SIL for 5 hours while I work 4 days a week. I really think it benefits Anna. I have had mixed emotions about working since I became pregnant. I have swayed back and forth. I have always loved working and then changed my mind when I went back from maternity. I have come to the middle ground. Working part time supplements us with some extra "saving or play" money and also gets me out of the house. I have learned in the past two weeks it has changed my daughter drastically. She just loves being around her older cousins. Of course when I arrive to pick her up she is happy but I think the interaction with the other children benefits her personality and growth.
On the other hand, I see the beginning of weaning already. She still nurses faithfully at home but we are supplementing with cereal so the times are growing fewer.
I know this means she is getting older but I am missing that closeness already.
I told Anna and Rob (dh) that we will just have to have another baby since my baby Anna is growing up so fast.

My question of the week is....
Am I the only one who nurses my daughter to sleep? I keep reading in many baby books that I should put her to bed awake but I don't. I like the bedtime nursing because that is our special time since returning to work. I hope this not going to harm her later on when she is totally weaned.

Sorry this entry is so short. I am trying to get some sort of schedule around the house since returning to work.

Have a great week!
