Carmajo's Diary Entries

Diary Navigation:

May 30, 2003

Nowing quickly approaching 15 months, I cannot believe how big Adrianna has gotten.
I am not just refering to size but rather the skills she is learning. Adrianna is a seasoned pro at walking. She occasionally falls down but rather than crying she says "OH!" jumps back up and goes about her business. She has now started crawling up on the furniture, kitchen chairs and yes the toilet. I really think she is part monkey.

We just finished the TWO weeks of non-stop specialist appointments. The first appt was with an allergist to confirm her peanut allergy. I had given her toast with peanut butter which caused a total body hive so to speak. Anyway have several tests, we have confirmation that Adrianna is allergic to nuts and to our surprise eggs! We have epi pens stocked everywhere.
The second appt was with my dermatologist. Adrianna has had constant dry, scratchy patches of skin all over her legs and back.
She has contact dermatitis or more commonly known as ezcema. I hate to admit this but she got this from Mommy.
The third appt was an ENT consult for her chronic ear infections. The appointment as short, sweet and to the point. Adrianna definitely needs tubes. She has had 4 ear infections in a 5 month period just this year. She will have outpatient surgery this Friday to have the tubes put in if we can go without an infection.

A short little note on breastfeeding. It has been 3 months since Adrianna nursed. To me it seems like years but I am really glad she weaned totally on her own. I did not force her but let her do it on her own time. Now comes the big test, taking away the bottle and the binkie. Wish us luck!

Love,

Carmajo & Adrianna
