Carmajo's Diary Entries

Diary Navigation:

March 5, 2003

Like they say...better late than never!
I feel like such a slacker mother! Adrianna turned 1 year old on March 5th and I am just now getting around to a Birthday entry.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY LITTLE "ANNA!" Mommy
and Daddy love you so very much!

I will go into detail about her birthday party on my next entry to include a short version on "how Adrianna came into our lives..."

Just a few milestones to update you on!
Adrianna started taking steps unassisted one week after her birthday on March 12th.
I arrived to pick her up at my SIL and she took 4 steps to me and fell into my arms.
I cried tears of joy and fear! Oh no....she will be all over the house now!
I tried to keep it a secret until Daddy got home so maybe she could surprise him and walk a few steps to him but I could not hold it in! I broke down and called him at work.
Another milestone is say the word "no!" She says it to everything under the sun. She also shakes her head no the entire time she is in the highchair eating.
We taught her something by mistake also. She was talking constantly one night at dinner and I "sshhhh'd" her with my pointer finger up to my lips and she imitates it only with her pointer finger stuck up her nose. Lovely huh? She did it to the nurse practitioner the other day during her exam.

On the health front she is battling another ear infection and this time the eardrum ruptured. We are battling diarrhea again. I have taken her off all dairy products to see if that helps. She may still have somewhat of a milk allergy that flairs up if we give her too much dairy which would also explain all her constant congestion and rattling.

On the breastfeeding front, we are weaned.
I say we because I feel the most sense of relief and accomplishment at the same time. I nursed her for a little over one year which I think is awesome.

I will update with her bithday and birthstory soon!
