It appears the "terrible twos" have hit us a month early. Sam has been downright disagreeable for the past several weeks. I'm sure some of it has had to do with teething and his cold, but I'm afraid it's undeniable that most of it is behavioral. The worst part of it is our lack of a unified front in disciplining his bad behavior. We are making mistakes all over the place. In fact, I think we're doing terrible. Neither of us can stand to see the other discipline Sam, and we’re constantly undoing what the other attempts to do. I’m afraid that if we don’t get our act together soon, we’ll allow Sam to develop a stubborn personality that will only become more difficult as he grows older. I KNOW that Sam will be the one to ultimately suffer from becoming a "brat," and I’m very disappointed in our lack of ability to figure this out and deal with it effectively. Meanwhile, as you can see, Sam continues to grow more handsome every day. Be honest -- could YOU look into these eyes and tell him no??? ^sigh^
He attempts to manipulate me, in particular, especially with nursing. Every time we get in the car, he immediately starts yelling for "aaa-em" (his word for nursing). He knows that if I nurse him, he obviously can't be in his car seat. Keeping him in his seat in a restaurant is almost unthinkable. We almost have to stand on our heads to keep him entertained.
