I took vacation leave the past two days so I could spend extra time with Sam. He is having such a bad time right now with teething, and he wants to nurse constantly. I think it was good for both of us to have that extra time together.Sam is communicating more effectively every day. He talks (baby talk) up a storm, which makes everyone say he's just like his mom :-).
I promise this is true -- the kid whistles! He points to birds and whistles. It's the cutest thing. I am constantly amazed at his ability to learn. He loves books, which makes us very happy. His latest favorite is "Goodnight, Moon."
This past weekend we finally had good weather. We took Sam to the park for
the first time, and he had a blast! You'll never guess what he had the most
fun playing with --- the mulch. Yep, mulch. Landscaping mulch. He was
fascinated by it. He would pick up a handful of it, hold it up, and watch
it fall from his hand. We took a million pictures, of course. He is the
cutest thing, if I say so myself....
