Abigail's Diary Entries

Diary Navigation:

February 28, 2000

It's been a really hectic week. The weather has been so nice, so we've been getting out and about a lot. It's much easier to go out with Lena and Liberty by myself now that they don't nurse constantly. In the beginning I was very afraid to go anywhere with them by myself because it was pretty hard to discreetly nurse them at the same time. Now Lena and Liberty will gladly eat a banana or some cheerios to tide them over until we get home. It's not a problem if just one of them wants to nurse while we're out -- the other one will *sometimes* wait patiently. We've been suffering from cabin fever so I'm afraid we kind of overdid it this week. I'm exhausted. We've been shopping and walking and playing and just enjoying being outside of our house. I love it when the February temperatures get up into the 60s! I know that it will be short lived, but I'm just trying to enjoy it while I can.

Also, today is the one year anniversary of when I went into labor. Maybe that has something to do with my wanting to be outside so much, too. I missed all of the weather changes last year. When I went into the hospital it was cold and snowy. When I came out, it was spring. There was one day in April when my doctors let Bryan wheel me outside to sit in the sun, but it just wasn't the same. Oh well. I'm just happy to be able to be exhausted from going places instead of being exhausted from waddling from my hospital bed to the hospital window and from the hospital window to the hospital bathroom and back to my hospital bed to eat my hospital food. It's good to be free.
