Breastfeed.com’s Best Nursing Story Contest

If you’ve ever nursed a baby, you’ve probably got some stories to share.

A story that elicits a smile or a laugh (even if it didn’t seem like a laughing matter at the time) … A story that makes the reader say "awwww"… A story that will make your child blush when you tell it to his or her prom date.

Maybe it was something funny your toddler said, maybe it was the time you spilled expressed breastmilk all over your desk at work, maybe it was the reaction you got from a stranger while nursing your infant at the mall. You’ve got stories, and we want to hear them!

Send your favorite stories to Breastfeed.com and you could win a prize!

"On a hot summer day, our power went out late at night. Our first reaction was ‘save the breastmilk!’ My husband quickly loaded more than 30 bags of frozen breastmilk into our little red cooler and rushed it out to the car and to my mother’s house to put in her freezer. I still laugh imagining him with the cooler next to him on the seat, racing toward my mother’s house like he was delivering an organ for transplant."

-- Rachel’s nursing story

"When my twins were born six weeks premature, it was a challenge to get breastfeeding started. Even though they were in the hospital for 10 days after birth, I woke every few hours at home and pumped milk for them to be fed at the hospital. It made me feel good to know that even though they couldn't nurse at first, they were still getting the benefits of breastmilk. I felt even better when they were finally able to nurse on their own, and I could stop all that pumping!"
